Update on The Stoneholding

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

It\’s been over a couple of years since I updated this website. Lots of things were going on behind the scenes by the authors of The Stoneholding. There is now news to share and updates to this website will be done soon.

The first book, The Stoneholding, is being re-released on September 8th, 2009. Any original versions of the book don\’t seem to be available any longer, so if you have a copy of those books, you have collectibles in your hands! This new version has a different cover and will be released throughout Canada and the U.S. online and in bookstores offline as well.

The second book, Darkling Fields of Arvon, will be released in March 2010.

This is no longer a trilogy, it\’s now a series, as there will now be four books. The titles of the last two books have yet to be announced.

I\’ve started a fan page on Facebook, you can become a fan, tell a friend to become a fan and then take a sneak peek of The Stoneholding… http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Lost-Harp/130580461693?ref=ts

One last thing, the official site for The Stoneholding has been updated with a new look/blog… http://stoneharp.com/

New Endorsement for The Stoneholding …

Tuesday, January 10th, 2006

Just posted on the \”book reviews\” page of TheLostHarp.com …

\”Mark James\’s The Stoneholding is one of those rare discoveries: a world of fantasy that is both as familiar as a folktale, yet still refreshingly new at every turn. It invites comparison to J.R.R Tolkien, while resonating with its own unique voice. Stunning artwork, demanding prose, and a world of great beauty and breadth. A debut not to be missed.\”
– James Rollins, author of the bestselling thrillers, including the latest Map of Bones. Also known to fantasy fans as James Clemens, author of the Banned and the Banished fantasy series from Del Rey.

Photos from the Books of Wonder Signing

Tuesday, December 27th, 2005

Here are some photos from the Books of Wonder signing in New York. One was taken outside the Books of Wonder store in NY, 18 West 18th Street; another of Mark & Jim signing limited edition hardcovers of \”The Stoneholding\” with Peter Glassman, owner of \”Books of Wonder\”. It was a great experience.

Literary agents, Morty Mint and Joanne Moyle of The Mint Agency, made arrangements for the signing event at Books of Wonder in NY.

Peter Glassman, owner of \”Books of Wonder\”, and himself an institution in the book business, suggested the idea of producing a limited editon hardcover printing of The Stoneholding specifically for the signing event on November 15. And indeed, there will be only 250 copies of this edition printed in commemoration of the US launch of the novel. A collector\’s item, to be sure!

See post below about this book signing…

Numerous things have been happening including:

1) The Stoneholding now has a Canadian distributor, Sandhill Bookmarketing . Through this distributor, you will now be able to find the book in Indigo / Chapters bookstores across Canada!

A note: If you would like to see The Stoneholding sold in your local bookstore, please tell the bookseller that the distributor is Sandhill and how to reach them.

3) Book signing engagements and events: In February, Mark James headed off to Ottawa for a couple of book-signing engagements with cover artist, Ted Nasmith. Ted brought along a couple of his original works to display, including the cover art for The Stoneholding. Here is a photo taken at the Chapters Rideau in downtown Ottawa…

4) Mark James recently sent out their newsletter and mentioned The Lost Harp! Here is what they said…

\”The Lost Harp fan website
The Stoneholding has a fan site! — thanks to the enthusiasm and initiative of one of our biggest fans, Wendy Shepherd. Wendy took it upon herself to set up a fan site for The Stoneholding as a place to talk about the book. Wendy has posted the first two chapters of the novel, PDFs of the maps, and an interview with us. There are also a number of discussion forums where questions or thoughts can be shared.

Please visit the site and leave a comment for Wendy, (www.thelostharp.com). She has been a terrific supporter of the book and we thank her for her work!

*Special thanks to Mark James for supporting the fan site. You are truly special! ~Wendy*

5) The most asked question . . . \”What about Book Two?\”
Okay, so about The Second Book of the Talamadh The Hidden Kingdom. Mark James has extensive chapter by chapter plot outlines already drafted, and they are beginning the work of crafting the story. And it\’s a good story! And you\’ll just have to be patient! :)
